I’m not advocating investing in cars just pointing out stuff appreciates as inflation is passed on to consumers. There is emergency powers that can call in silver, gold and food. They could make it a death penalty offense to use metals as currency. They can do whatever if the end comes as you hard money people believe it will. I’m not worried about my myriads of investment avenues collapsing anytime soon.

Um you’re the economist here so please explain B) in laymen s terms. As far as A) goes I don’t care like I’ve said repeatedly you don’t need metal to offset and beat inflation. The Government in the end of the world scenario can do anything it wants. If you have starving masses of zombies do you believe you can hunker down with your sack of silver and survive? If you so much as preset silver as currency anywhere to anyone they could make it a death penalty offense.

Never said it was a bad investment based upon possible confiscation. IMO is a bubble today. You just claim it can’t happen. If the world comes to and end and the total financial system is gone then I do not believe holding bags of shiny metal will matter. So as far as survival goes I would rather have land, trees, water,food and skills. I just have to repeat since you’re clouded with hard money delusion that other real assets do the same thing as PM to hedge against inflation.
