Pizza online order demo video

Thursday Feb 11, 2010

Another PHP+AJAX demo:
This is online pizza order system, 100% done using AJAX.
On front page, you can browse thru categories of food, make orders and register yourself. When ordering, you will see CAPTCHA to prevent bots.
Admin part: you can see orders in real time on the right side. Right now, refreshing is done every 30 secs, i should have lowevered it for this demo, sorry.
When you get an order, clicking on it will show you all details the buyer provided. You can set this order to ‘preparing’ which you would do when you told the chef to prepare it. When the order is done, change it’s status to ‘Done and Sent’ which will remove that order from the list, but it remains in database. At the end of month or day, you could see how many orders are proccessed, in what time etc. You could use that information for setting discount for regular buyers.
On left side are categories of food, like pizzas, lazanias etc. Clicking on some of them, you will see products in that category. Click on image product and you can set product’s price, image (or upload new one), description or move product to another category or remove it.
Notice the green or red circle near product; clicking on it will change it’s status. Red means that product should not appear in online store, which you would use if you ran out of it.
Sorry for not showing all the options but i think that is quite enough until i fully finish it. So far, there is a protection against bad workers: for example, the menu at top will appear only for owner (admin) of shop. Workers will be able only to process orders, but not to change price or add new if you don’t allow them to.
Thank you for your time. PM if you want more info or leave a comment.
