How much would you pay to have someone shop and deliver your groceries for you?
Posted by admin | Under Grocery Delivery Services Wednesday Feb 3, 2010I’m thinking of starting my own grocery delivery service. I live in the Southern California area, and I’m wondering how much you would pay to have someone shop and deliver your groceries for you? Also, how often would you use a service such as this?
I personally wouldn’t use such a service, but would be good for the elderly or folks with no cars.

How about 20% for the total order. I think this is a great idea. So if their order came to 100$ you would charge 120

Check out the prices charged by existing delivery services in your area, especially large-scale ones like Peapod.com.

In the UK it is £10 ($16 ) and loads of stores do it.
Sometimes they offer free delivery. You will be pushed to get into that market.

Peapod has been doing it for years . I use them when I’m not feeling well. Otherwise I enjoy shopping.

I wouldn’t use it. Just because I’m so paticular about what kinds of food I buy (ex. vegan, no HFCSs, no trans fats, no weird ingreidents I can’t pronounce etc.). I wouldn’t trust some stranger to do it for me. That kind of service is probably better for elderly or injured people who would find it difficult to walk or drive to the nearest grocery store.
