The best prices in town are at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.
This is on Flamingo about 2 miles or less west of the Bellagio Hotel.
Very well-known for it's great prices.
References :
Yes, grocery stores sell hard liquor in Las Vegas. I'm not sure I'd spend the extra cab fare (or time) to stop on the way. I'd probably buy a small bottle at the hotel for the first night, then scout out a good store the next day.

My wife and I used to travel quite often, and, for trips of more than a few days, allocated a couple of hours to stock our hotel room. It makes the trip so much more pleasant.

If you can get to a Lee's Liquors, you will find very good pricing combined with an excellent selection.

Have fun!
