I don’t think there really is a cheap place to buy groceries. I would recommend a farmer’s market; there are lots of them around the island & you can get good fruits & veggies there. Ewa Beach is a good long commute from Honolulu, but if you happen to work on the western end of the island, I think it is an OK place to live.

PS… ABC Stores are good places to buy inexpensive souveneirs or sunscreen. Not a good place for grocery shopping.

There all about the same, Foodland, Times, Safeway.
Each has its own specialties, best poke – Foodland
Best produce – Safeway and Times
Best sales – Times

Military commissaries are the cheapest though.

Go to Safeway; you can get a Safeway card like a Kroger card where you save $$. ABC stores have alot of stuff but I think that they were more expensive on food than Safeway.
