where to buy cheap grocery in oahu?
Posted by admin | Under Cheap Groceries Thursday Mar 4, 2010we are moving to hawaii. heard about the high living cost there, just want to know where to get good deal on daily life shopping such as grocery, bathroom stuff etc. Thanks for your information. and by the way, is the Ewa Beach area a good area for living?
I don’t think there really is a cheap place to buy groceries. I would recommend a farmer’s market; there are lots of them around the island & you can get good fruits & veggies there. Ewa Beach is a good long commute from Honolulu, but if you happen to work on the western end of the island, I think it is an OK place to live.
PS… ABC Stores are good places to buy inexpensive souveneirs or sunscreen. Not a good place for grocery shopping.

Go to Safeway; you can get a Safeway card like a Kroger card where you save $$.
ABC stores have alot of stuff but I think that they were more expensive on food than Safeway.

Each has its own specialties, best poke – Foodland
Best produce – Safeway and Times
Best sales – Times
Military commissaries are the cheapest though.
