Food waste is the second largest portion of garbage going into landfills in the United States, accounting for over 30 million tons each year. Food Scraps are one of the most important materials to divert from landfills as they decompose to create methane, a potent greenhouse gas (GHG) that contributes to climate change. In order to decrease food waste and mitigate global warming, East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is pioneering an innovative method of taking food scraps from restaurants and commercial food processors and using them as a valuable commodity to produce green renewable energy through anaerobic digestion, with the remains going to compost.

my 18month is sick and sleeping right now. our plans of grocery shopping are not happening today. but my cupboards are bare. we’ve got enough food stuff to last until hubby gets home from work (so i can go by myself or he can go on his way home), but we’re out of milk, drank the last bit of oj last night, and we have only a quarter gallon of water (i even skipped coffee to save it for the kids!) and i’m so thirsty i could drink a whole gallon.

publix used to deliver but i found out about the service a yr too late. they stopped deliveries, don’t know why. =(

Drink tap water. That should quench your thirst until your husband gets home. And, it’s goof for you. You can make coffee with it too.

I’d like to send some groceries to someone for Christmas. Do you know of any grocery stores that deliver in Tampa Florida? I would order the groceries online and they would deliver. Publix doesn’t deliver and the Super walmart is hard to get in touch with to asl. TIA
